Our Spring Brunch fundraiser would have been in May. Because of the need to socially distance, we've had to switch gears. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us for Spring Brunch at a Distance. We'd like you to consider holding your brunch sometime during the weekend of May 30th-31st, and post your pictures on social media, using the #CKBrunch hashtag.

Listed below you will see a menu of options for this southwest themed brunch. Since we can't have you all here, we are inviting you to try something new and prepare some of these dishes yourself, at home. Each dish option has a recipe (at the bottom of the page) and a video link to help you know how to prepare it. Choose the dish for each course, go shopping and then prepare this cool brunch from home. There is even a special Southwest Bloody Mary cocktail mix from Cardinal Spirits, for this brunch. You can purchase that mix directly from Cardinal between 5/26-5/29. You must order by 5/29 to pick up on the 5/30.

Check out the menu and then read below for additional ideas for ways to  share your brunch adventure.

Course 1:
___Marinated fruit (Two part video: part 1 & part 2)
or
___Avocado deviled eggs with candied bacon (video)

Course 2:
___Buttermilk biscuit with chorizo gravy (video) or
___Southwest vegetable pastilla with black bean sauce (Two part video: part 1 & part 2))

Course 3:
___Torta Borracha (video)

Here are some cool ideas to share this experience:
1. It's nice outside. Prepare the brunch and have a couple of friends join you in your yard for a socially distanced brunch. Share your food and drink.
2. Pair up with a few friends and divide up cooking responsibilities and drink mixing. Agree on how to leave a portion of each dish prepared on your friends' porches and trade dishes that way.
3. Pair up with a few friends and ZOOM or facetime while watching the videos and cooking "together" virtually.

Just remember to share your experiences with us using the hashtag #CKBrunch on social media. Consider making a contribution to Community Kitchen to support programming during this time. We appreciate you joining us for this adventure with or without a donation. Enjoy!
