Chefs' Challenge - August 29, 2008
at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
Doors open at 6:30pm, competition begins at 7pm
Tickets are $25 on sale at the Sunrise box office, all Bloomingfoods
locations and Community Kitchen.
Two local chefs will compete against last year's Gold Spatula winner, Jake Brenchley of Scholar's Inn. See the video from last year's event!
Our competing Chefs this year are:
JAKE BRENCHLEY
Executive Chef at Scholar's Inn
Training: Ecole de Culinere in Paris and the Cordon Bleu Academy in Orlando, Fla
Previous experience: California Grill in Orlando, 4 Seasons, Henry IV and Le Ford Bleu
Favorite dish: Braised Beef Short Ribs
ALAN BOOZE
Chef at Meadowood
Training: informal, worked with Chef Tad DeLay
Previous experience: Opie Taylor’s, Upland Brewery
Favorite dish: Mocha pork with mango and coffee cream sauce
ALAN SIMMERMAN
Prepared foods manager at Bloomingfoods, with 20 years experience
Training: Culinary Institute of America
Previous experience: Bloomington Country Club, Restaurant Tallent, Redfish (New Orleans), Bacco, Jazz Kitchen
